What to Bring & General Tips

Due to popular demand, here's the SARA/LibNow staff's list of suggestions and what you should bring for the conference.

• Pack light. There's no need to bring too much stuff. Go minimal, cuz it's definitely no fun lugging all the unnecessary stuff around. Remember! There will be plenty of great stuff to pick up at the conference. (That hair detangler potion is totally unnecessary, though clean underwear and a toothbrush are absolutely necessary.)
  
• Extra bag. Literature, posters, buttons, videos, and tons of other freebies and good stuff that you will definitely want to take home with you to rawk out for animals in your schools and communities will be at LibNow, so make sure you bring a nice sturdy bag or two (or three).
  
• Cell Phone/Calling Card. It's always cool to be able to stay in touch with your family and friends back home - and trust us, a cell phone/calling card will come in quite handy throughout your trip. Plus, cell phone users can sign up for our TxtMob onsite updates to get important text message updates throughout the conference on their cell phones (like when the food will be served and last minute schedule changes at the conference).
  
• Cash/ATM Card. Extra money will come in handy - and definitely not just for buying tshirts and other goodies from the LibNow exhibit hall. You may need a midnight snack somewhere or something. Who knows? And of course, make sure to bring $6 bucks for the BART train ride to attend the Anti-Fur Rally at Neiman Marcus - it'll be incredible! (oh, surely, you will want to make a donation to the Student Animal Rights Alliance to help support our work to build a strong & diverse youth movement for animals - but guess what? You can actually make a donation right now, online! No need to wait til LibNow! hehe.)
  
• Business cards or some other similar device. You'll meet tons of super cool peeps at LibNow that you will want to stay in contact with, make sure to have copies of your contact info so you can easily give it away - it'll definitely get really tiring to write your info over and over and over again. (And please find a safe place to keep all your info, cuz we really can't dig into our database after the conference to help you find that cute-as-a-Tofutti-Cutie-cutie's contact info.)
  
• Cameras. Take lots and lots and lots of pics! And make sure to send us the really good ones!
  
• ZzzzZZZzzzz's. Make sure to get plenty of sleep before the conference! You won't want to miss a moment!
  
• Brush up on your travel plans. Check out all the links and directions on the travel page to make sure you know how to get to and from the conference!
  
• Halloween costume!!! Hey, if you're planning to check out the San Francisco Castro Halloween Parade after LibNow, make sure to bring your costume!
